Chiang Mai Burns Night

Sunday 25th January - 7pm

Traditional Burns Night Supper in Chiang Mai at Tuskers

This year is the 250th anniversary of the legendary Scottish poet, Robert Burns and to celebrate the occasion Tuskers, along with members of Chiang Mai's Scottish community, will be presenting a traditional Burns Night Supper to celebrate the occasion.

Burns Suppers have been part of Scottish culture for centuries as a means of commemorating their best loved bard who immortalised haggis in verse. The tradition was started by close friends of Burns a few years after his death in 1796 as a tribute to his memory. The basic format for the evening has remained unchanged for over 200 years, it is uniquely Scottish event cloaked in ritual and ceremony which will be evocatively familiar to Scots. The evening will also delight and amaze other nationalities that have not before experienced a Burns Supper so don’t miss this chance for a glimpse at one of the highlights of Scottish culture.
